Waterproof grade reflects the ability of moisture-proof of products. Especially for outdoor activities, it is unavoidable to be in the harsh environment of high humidity. The sealing and water-proof ability of the instrument is very important to ensure the safe of operation and life of the instrument.

2. Speaking of structure of IPX3-IPX4, please kindly see Figure 3 and Figure 4 in below. The waterproof test equipment in Figure 4 (Other supplier’s Model) is Wall-Hanging Split Type, but the waterproof test equipment in Figure 3 (LISUN Mode: JL-34) is Two Cabinets Type. Compare to Wall-Hanging Split Type, two cabinets type is easy to carry. Besides, the cabinets of LISUN model JL-34can be mounted wheels at the bottom, which is more easier for operator to carry and adjust placement.

3. With the view of production details for waterproof test equipment, we can see many welded junctions in Figure 6 and Figure 7(Other supplier’s Model), which not only affects appearance, but also makes it easier for water to erode equipment. please kindly see Figure 5 & Figure 6 & Figure 7 in below. 4. Speaking of turntable, we can easily judge the good or bad quality of turntable by through below Figure 8 and Figure 9. After waterproof test equipment is used for a long time, in below Figure 9 (Other supplier’s Model), we can find many rust spots on the machine. In below Figure 8(LISUN Model:JL-34), there is no rust spot on that machine. Thus it can be seen good material can make machine have good corrosion resistance and durability. 5. For swing pipe and spray nozzle for IPX3 and IPX4, compare to Figure 11, the quality of swing pipe and spray nozzle in Figure 10 is better and more elaborate .which also make operator control water flow accurately, and Good parts can make the equipment be used for long term.

6. Regarding to wire of waterproof, please kindly see Figure 12 and Figure 13 in below. Wire is exposing outside of equipment in Figure 13 (Other supplier’s Model). If operator use the machine for a long time in damp environment, that will be easy to make safety issue. So such design for waterproof equipment is not safe for operator. In Figure 12 (LISUN Model: JL-34), Wires are wrapped in plastic pipes, in that way, it can protect operator when operator use equipment. From a safety point of view, LISUN Model is also much better.

Analysis on the Status of Certified LED Bulb in USA Energy Star

Dated on October 2015, the United States on the market with a total 2995 bulb lamp products obtain the United States Energy Star certification, mainly used to replace the 25W, 40W, 60W and 100 watt ordinary lighting with incandescent, which won the 1563 kinds of LED bulb , LED ball was certificated in more than 190 companies.

What’s new: IEC 61000-4-5 Second Edition vs. Third Edition

IEC 61000-4-5 is part of the IEC 61000 series, which describes surge immunity testing caused by over-voltages from switching and lightning transients. The second edition of IEC 61000-4-5 was released in 2005 and has been in use for many years. The third edition was released as an EN standard in 2014. The general philosophy of the third edition is unchanged from the second edition. However there have been a number of refinements to the standard: additional explanation to clear up ambiguities, new descriptions that were not included in the second edition, and new (informative) Annexes that can be used to help in the application of the standard.

The purpose of this article is to outline the changes and additions that are now part of IEC 61000-4-5 3rd edition.

Critical Transition Dates

Transition from the second edition to the third edition is already taking place within the EU according to the following dates:19 Mar. 2015 – Date of Publication (dop): The third edition has to be implemented by publication of an identical national standard by CENELEC member countries.

19 June 2017 – Date of Withdrawal (dow): National standards that conflict with the third edition must be withdrawn (i.e. the second edition can no longer be used).

Wave Shape Changes

One simple, seemingly benign addition to the third edition was to add a definition for “duration”: actually three definitions because one voltage waveform duration and two current waveform durations have been defined. This changes how the time of the waveforms are measured, and may have a significant impact on the equipment used to perform some tests. The change most greatly impacts the 8x20uS short-circuit current waveform. Figures 1 and 2 compare the measurement from the 2nd and 3rd editions of the standard. Compare T2 in the second edition to Tw and Td in the third edition.

What’s new: IEC 61000-4-5 Second Edition vs. Third Edition

Another important change to the impulse waveform is that the 1.2×50/8×20 μs wave shape must be within the limits of the standard when the impulse is applied through a Coupling-Decoupling Network (CDN); specifically the 18μF coupling capacitor. While the open-circuit voltage waveform is not affected, the 8×20 μs short-circuit current wave shape will be significantly distorted by the addition of the 18μF capacitor, and the peak output current will be reduced by approx. 10% (depending on the design of the impulse generator). Figure 3 illustrates the problem: the normalized short-circuit output current of a nominal impulse generator is plotted against the same generator output into a 18μF capacitor. With the addition of the 18μF capacitor the peak current is significantly lower, and the waveform duration is shorter.

What’s new: IEC 61000-4-5 Second Edition vs. Third Edition

New CDN and Calibration Requirements

This new Annex A now contains the full description of the 10×700 μs impulse, including the waveform generator, calibration of the generator, the CDN to be used, and the calibration of the CDN. In the second edition (section 6.2) only the waveform, and calibration of the waveform were described. The new Annex A does not change any requirements other than the waveform duration definition previously mentioned. However, new requirements have been added, especially relating to CDN performance.

In the second edition, calibration of the 1.2×50/8×20 μs generator was described in section 6.1.2. In the third edition this is covered in section 6.2.3, and additional details have been added. The updates provide clarification regarding the type of equipment that should be used to perform calibrations, including specifications for current transformers (if used to measure short-circuit current). Similar details have been included in Annex A regarding the 10×700 μs impulse waveform. Section 6.2.3 also makes reference to Annexes E and G of the standard (both are new in the third edition). Annex E is quite useful, as it includes many figures that show the various waveform measurements in detail (rise and duration) for all of the waveforms.

Other Updates and Clarifications

For AC equipment, impulses are applied at 0, 90, 180, and 270-degree phase angles. The third edition provides some clarification for testing three-phase equipment: the phase angle is measured between the two Lines being tested (not Line to Neutral). Also, the new edition points out that when testing from Neutral to Ground, phase matching is not needed (because there should be no voltage from Neutral to Ground) and so this test should be treated similar to DC testing (five positive impulses and five negative impulses).

In summary, the changes in the third edition of IEC 61000-4-5 are likely to impact any organization that performs impulse testing or calibrates impulse test equipment.

Manufacturers of products that are tested to the second edition will most likely not require any product redesign, as the actual impulse tests are relatively unchanged. The third edition should result in a more consistent application of impulse testing, and greater repeatability of test results.

What is color difference SDCM and how to do the measurement?

Color difference is an important indicator of lighting lamps color performance. Color difference is the difference between computer calculation forma and the target standard, calculated by single lighting source, the value is smaller, accuracy is higher. Please note, it only represents the compared color of a light source, it can not detect the deviation under different light sources. Generally speaking, color difference refers to the distance that the measurement value deviates from the target value, the difference between the light source spectrum and the standard spectrum. It needs provide the target value and calculation formula to know the measurement value of color difference.

Standard spectrum changes with color temperature, the color difference is different for the same light source if the standard spectrum is different, but when test, general color photoelectric analysis system can automatically identify the color temperature range where the measured light source is, to determine the color temperature value of standard spectrum. When the color temperature is same, reference standard spectrum is consistent, chromaticity coordinate X,Y is different, the color difference is also different.

Color difference unit: SDCM. National standard has its specific testing requirement, IEC 60901 and GB-T17262 single-ended fluorescent lamp performance requirements specified in the standard that general energy-saving lamps require color tolerance less than 5 SDCM. IEC 62717 and GB24823 general lighting for LED modules performance requirements specified in the standard that LED modules require color difference less than 7SDCM. In the ellipse of 5SDCM, color difference is 5 if the point is on the curve of ellipse, color difference is less than 5 if the coordinates is in the circle of ellipse. IEC standard requires that the lamp chromaticity coordinate(x,y) should not deviate the rated value from 5SDCM, that is to say, the chromaticity coordinate of lamp should be in the ellipse, the color difference should be less than 5 SDCM for general energy-saving lamps. For color difference ellipse diagram, outer ring is 6SDCM corresponding to the national standard, inner ring is 5SDCM corresponding to international standard. Industry standard, Energy Star ANSI C78.376, Color Difference≤7SDCM; EU Standard IEC60081, Color Difference≤7SDCM; National Standard GB10682-2002, Color Difference≤5SDCM.

In the fluorescent lamp, as the density of red, green and blue powder is different, it is easy to cause color temperature difference in production. Once appear, it needs adjust color difference to adjust color temperature difference to ensure light color of light. Brief introduction of CE certificates

In recent years, the CE marks are more and more widely used in the market of European economic area (Member states of the European Union and the European Free Trade association, except Switzerland). More customs of different countries set out the requirements of CE certification for imported products. Exporter will be in trouble as well as unnecessary loss if their shipping goods don’t have CE certified label. So, what is the importance of CE certification? What are the forms of CE certification so far? And what are the risks of products that has not been certified by CE?

1. The importance of CE certification

The CE mark on the packaging indicates that it meets the requirements of a series of European directives such as safety, sanitation, environmental protection and consumer protection. In the past, EC(European Community)countries require differently for import and sale of products. The goods which are produced according to national standards may not be on the market. As part of the efforts to eliminate trade barriers, CE came into being at that time. Therefore, CE can be understood as CONFORMITY WITH EUROPEAN (DEMAND) (in Europe).

The meaning of the CE mark is as the following: Using CE acronym as symbol shows products which affix the CE mark meet the main requirements of relevant provisions of the European Directive (Essential Requirements),and it’s also used to verify that the products have passed the conformity assessment procedure or the manufacturer’s declaration of conformity. The CE mark is truly as a passport for the products being allowed to enter the European market. For industrial products which must affix CE mark according to relevant instructions, they can be in the market without CE mark, or they must be taken back if they don’t meet safety requirements but with CE mark and in the market.  The risk of being charged by competitor for other purpose;

The import of CE certified electronic instruments and equipment has the following advantages:

 The import of CE certified equipment can avoid a lot of trouble in the import and export because the laws, regulations as well as standards of EU are not only numerous, but also very complex;

 It can enhance the reliability of their product performance by using CE certified equipment for testing or production. It also can effectively prevent the emergence of irresponsible allegations;

 The CE certificate of the institution designated by European Union will be the important evidence with legal effect when you are facing to litigation;

For electronic equipment and testing equipment, there is a very important parameter ” EMC test” when the products are doing CE certification. Because the power grid frequency, voltage in Europe countries are differen from China Mainland, these products are likely to be damaged in the course of use if not detected. At the same time, there are many interference factors such as pulse group, lightning surge interference, voltage dip and so on. If there is no CE certification, the equipment is likely to be damaged and can’t be used normally.

3. Current forms of CE certification in China mainland

At present, there are three kinds of domestic CE certification as following:

A:Only certified certificate, no test report:
This type of certificate is almost invalid and cannot be queried on the appropriate website. Products with this certification mark can’t be recognized as ticket to the European market. Products with this kind of certificate is equivalent to the product without CE mark, and they should be detained or even returned.

B: Certificate of compliance / Certificate of compliance, with test report:
This type of certificate is issued as a statement of conformity by the third party Agency (agency or test certification body). The test reports and other technical documents TCF should be enclosed by this kind of certificate. At the same time, enterprises also have to sign the<declaration of conformity>. This type of certification report is only recognized in mainland China. Although there are the test report and related certificates according to the requirement, the relevant information can only be checked on the detection of the company’s own website. But many such testing company themself do not comply with EU certification requirements. The certificate is only applicable to the manufacturer for product quality self inspection, there is also a greater risk of being detained by the customs ana cause fines and delivery delays. This will affect the normal use of products. This kind f certificate is shown in the following figure :

This type of certificate is issued by the EU notified body (Notified Body known as NB). According to EU regulations, only the NB are eligible to issue EC Type CE Declaration.

This type of certificate and test report are issued by testing organization certified by EU. The products finish the complete testing during the certification process and has a complete test report. Meanwhile, certificate No. can be found in the appropriate Website. Only these electronic equipment which has finished the testing and certification can be exported to EU and can get CE label. How to Measure the High Frequency Fluorescent Lamp

High frequency fluorescent lamp came out in 1990. Fine tube, small current and high power is the distinct features. Because of the above design structure, high frequency current working, electronic ballast with low power consumption, the work system of this high frequency fluorescent lamp is superior to the traditional lamp on the aspect of lighting effect and photometric.
How to measure the characters of the fluorescent lamp in high frequency condition? How to verify the match relationship of the tube and ballast? These problems always trouble the fluorescent tubes manufacture enterprise and the third lab service company. Lisun Group supplies the following two solutions: IEC Standard Test Method and High Frequency Constant Current Equivalent Test Method.
1. IEC Standard Test Method:
Double end fluorescent lamp adopts the IEC 60081 (GB/T10682) and the single-ended fluorescent lamp adopts the IEC60901 (GB/T17262), where in the standard of electricity parameters as in Fig 1. As we know the testing correctness of the photo & color parameters are based on the fact that the reference ballast, power and instrument in the detection circuit all comply with standards. If the reference ballast, power and instrument can’t meet the standard that means it can not supply the tube with standard working conditions. Then, not only the tested electricity parameter but also the photo & color parameters will deviate from the actual value obviously.

Fig 1 does the high frequency tube test based on IEC Standard which required the High Frequency Power Source, Adjustable Reference Ballast and Lamp Preheat Assistant Source.
High Frequency Power Supply (HFP-800): output power is 20~26kHz, the frequency should be kept in the range of ±2% at working. Output power is 0~580V.
Adjustable Resistance Ballast (RB-3): impedance values of high frequency reference ballast which used by any high frequency lamp with regard to GB/T10682 (IEC 60081) and GB/T17262 (IEC60901), RB-3 conforms to the requirement of IEC60929.
●Lamp Preheat Assistant Source | Auxiliary Power Supply (LPS-3): Preheating method of cathode during the high frequency fluorescent lamp starting.
The above IEC Standard Test System is the necessary instrument not only to measure the photo & electricity parameters according to the standard of IEC 60081 and IEC60901, but also to test the lumen and color parameters according to the standard of IEC60929 (GB/T15144). Any national lighting electrical test centers must adopt the above test system if they need to do High frequency lamp such as T5 tube.
2. High Frequency Constant Current Equivalent Test Method:
Even though, the above Standard Test System can totally conform to the requirement of measuring the high frequency fluorescent lamp by IEC standard, due to the high price of this system, the small third lab service company and the most of manufactory company can’t cover the high cost, Lisun Group developed HCS-109A Adjustable High Frequency Reference Ballast which is an equivalent test method in comparison with IEC method. The typical schematic is shown as Fig 2, high frequency constant current source provides a continuously adjustable output current of 100mA ~ 500mA.

When connecting the circuit to turn on the lights, high frequency constant current source will deliver high-voltage pulse to start the lamp, the output frequency of high frequency constant current source is in 20~26kHz. The obvious shortage of equivalent method is due to the high constant current source output internal impedance. The large internal impedance of high frequency constant current source will cover the departure of tested lamp with respect to standard electrical parameters. It will take about 5%~ 30% tolerances when using LPCE-1 Fig 3 to test the photo, color and electricity parameters.
The above HCS-105A equipped with LPCE-2 High Precision Spectroradiometer Integrating Sphere System can test CCT, CRI, Spectrum, Lumen and electricity parameters for high frequency fluorescent lamp T5.
