Spectrum is the relative distribution of wavelength and light intensity. The spectrum of LED is generally monochromatic LED, such as blue LED with a peak wavelength of 470nm, with shorter peak wavelength ultraviolet area and with longer peak wavelength green areas as the determination limitation of light intensity.

And the spectrum of incandescent lamp, its luminous intensity is widely distributed in the blue area 400nm to 700nm near infrared field, in the field of ultraviolet and infrared can also observe the luminous intensity. As for Fluorescent lamp, the part of combination usage's phosphor light wavelength is the peak of the spectrum.

Compared with the ordinary red, green and blue LED spectral peak, the white LED spectrum is different. For example, there are two luminous intensity peaks in the area of blue and yellow, or in the blue field, yellow and red fields, there are three peaks, and even more. This is because the white LED white light is a combination of multiple wavelengths of light. For instance, a combination of blue and yellow phosphor LED, the peak is in the blue and yellow field. In addition, based on the blue LED luminous intensity of peak is sharp, and the phosphor peak is relatively flat.

When the LED is used in the liquid crystal panel back light, the most ideal situation is that the spectrum of LED appears luminous intensity peaks in three areas of red, green and blue. This is because the LED light will eventually be output to the outside through the liquid crystal panel of the color filter (red, green, blue).

Getting three luminous intensity peaks, using red, green and blue three kinds of LED, and through improved phosphor material, use method of obtaining three peak of white LED

Picture 1 is old model Integrating Sphere. The hemisphere manufacturing technology of this Integrating Sphere is surrounded by six iron sheets via angle iron, and then two hemispheres are connected by fixture. The bottom adopts adjustable foot to support and fix the whole sphere.

Picture 2 is the improved model integrating sphere. This integrating sphere specification makes no difference with old model. But the critical technologies are that hemisphere is disposable stamping by mould. Technology requirements are very high. Measurement data error is quite small. Overall appearance is succinct.

Picture 3  Latest Integrating Sphere

The overall structure of latest Integrating Sphere is simple and beautiful with powerful function. This sphere can be assembled in half. The hemisphere width can be controlled at about 1/2 of the entire width of the sphere after disassembly, which is convenient to transport, especially for small office or laboratory door. The disassembly and installation of this model Integrating Sphere just needs to twist six screws in bracket.

Brief introduction of CE certificates


 

In recent years, the CE marks are more and more widely used in the market of European economic area (Member states of the European Union and the European Free Trade association, except Switzerland). More customs of different countries set out the requirements of CE certification for imported products. Exporter will be in trouble as well as unnecessary loss if their shipping goods don't have CE certified label. So, what is the importance of CE certification? What are the forms of CE certification so far? And what are the risks of products that has not been certified by CE?

 
  1. The importance of CE certification


 

The CE mark on the packaging indicates that it meets the requirements of a series of European directives such as safety, sanitation, environmental protection and consumer protection. In the past, EC(European

Community)countries require differently for import and sale of products. The goods which are produced according to national standards may not be on the market. As part of the efforts to eliminate trade barriers, CE came into being at that time. Therefore, CE can be understood as CONFORMITY WITH EUROPEAN (DEMAND) (in Europe).

 

The meaning of the CE mark is as the following: Using CE acronym as symbol shows products which affix the CE mark meet the main requirements of relevant provisions of the European Directive (Essential Requirements),and it's also used to verify that the products have passed the conformity assessment procedure or the manufacturer's declaration of conformity. The CE mark is truly as a passport for the products being allowed to enter the European market. For industrial products which must affix CE mark according to relevant instructions, they can be in the market without CE mark, or they must be taken back if they don't meet safety requirements but with CE mark and in the market. For industrial products which must affix CE mark according to relevant instructions, they can be in the market without CE mark, or they must be taken back if they don't meet safety requirements but with CE mark and in the market. Moreover, the products will be restricted and prohibited from entering the EU market or forced to withdraw from the market if they violate CE mark instructions in European Directive.

 

 

The most important function of CE is to ensure the safety of the products and ensure the products work well under the conditions of the European union. CE mark like a tickets for products entering the European market, if products are not certified by CE, it's most likely to be seized of by European customs and cause exporters’ unnecessary losses.

 
  1. Advantages of CE certification


The import of CE certified electronic instruments and equipment can effectively avoid the following risks:
  • The risk of being detained and investigated by the customs;

  • The risk of being investigated and dealt with by the market supervision institution;

  • The risk of being charged by competitor for other purpose;


 

The import of CE certified electronic instruments and equipment has the following advantages:
  • The import of CE certified equipment can avoid a lot of trouble in the import and export because the laws, regulations as well as standards of EU are not only numerous, but also very complex;

  • It can enhance the reliability of their product performance by using CE certified equipment for testing or production. It also can effectively prevent the emergence of irresponsible allegations;

  • The CE certificate of the institution designated by European Union will be the important evidence with legal effect when you are facing to litigation;


 

For electronic equipment and testing equipment, there is a very important parameter " EMC test" when the products are doing CE certification. Because the power grid frequency, voltage in Europe countries are differen from China Mainland, these products are likely to be damaged in the course of use if not detected. At the same time, there are many interference factors such as pulse group, lightning surge interference, voltage dip and so on. If there is no CE certification, the equipment is likely to be damaged and can't be used normally.

 
  1. Current forms of CE certification in China mainland

At present, there are three kinds of domestic CE certification as following:

 

AOnly certified certificate, no test report:

This type of certificate is almost invalid and cannot be queried on the appropriate website. Products with this certification mark can't be recognized as ticket to the European market. Products with this kind of certificate is equivalent to the product without CE mark, and they should be detained or even returned.

B: Certificate of compliance / Certificate of compliance, with test report:

       This type of certificate is issued as a statement of conformity by the third party Agency (agency or test certification body). The test reports and other technical documents TCF should be enclosed by this kind of certificate. At the same time, enterprises also have to sign the<declaration of conformity>. This type of certification report is only recognized in mainland China. Although there are the test report and related certificates according to the requirement, the relevant information can only be checked on the detection of the company's own website. But many such testing company themself do not comply with EU certification requirements. The certificate is only applicable to the manufacturer for product quality self inspection, there is also a greater risk of being detained by the customs ana cause fines and delivery delays. This will affect the normal use of products. This kind f certificate is shown in the following figure :

C: EC Attestation of conformity < EU standard compliance certificate >

This type of certificate is issued by the EU notified body (Notified Body known as NB). According to EU regulations, only the NB are eligible to issue EC Type CE Declaration.

This type of certificate and test report are issued by testing organization certified by EU. The products finish the complete testing during the certification process and has a complete test report. Meanwhile, certificate No. can be found in the appropriate Website. Only these electronic equipment which has finished the testing and certification  can be exported to EU and can get CE label. All of Lisun series devices do CE certification in such bodies certified by European Union, and has integrated <EU standard compliance certificate> and corresponding test report. Advantages and disadvantages for total flux test of Integrating Sphere System and Goniophotometer

 

According to IESNA-LM-79-80, the total luminous flux (lumen) of SSL products shall be measured with an integrating sphere system or a goniophotometer. The method may be chosen depending on what other measurement quantities (color, intensity distribution) need to be measured, the size of SSL products, and other requirements.

 

The integrating sphere system is suited for total luminous flux and color measurement of integrated LED lamps and relatively small-size LED luminaires. The integrating sphere system has the advantage of fast measurement and does not require a dark room. Air movement is minimized and temperature within the sphere is not subject to the fluctuations potentially present in a temperature-controlled room. It should be noted that the heat from the SSL product mounted in or on the integrating sphere may accumulate to increase the ambient temperature of the product under test. Two types of integrating sphere systems are used, one employing a V(l)-corrected photometer head, and another employing a spectroradiometer as the detector. Spectral mismatch errors occur with the first method due to the deviation of the relative spectral responsivity of the integrating sphere photometer from the V(l), while there are theoretically no spectral mismatch errors with the second method.

 

The spectroradiometer method is preferred for measurement of SSL products because spectral mismatch errors with the photometer head tend to be significant for LED emissions and correction is not trivial, requiring knowledge of the system spectral responsivity as well as the spectrum of the device under test. In addition, with the spectroradiometer method, color quantities can be measured at the same time as total luminous flux.

 

Goniophotometers provide measurement of luminous intensity distribution as well as total luminous flux. Goniophotometers can measure total luminous flux of SSL products of relatively large size (corresponding

to dimensions of traditional fluorescent lamp luminaires) while they can measure small SSL products as well. A goniophotometer is installed in a dark room, normally temperature-controlled, and is not subject to heat accumulation from a source being measured. Care must be taken, however, for drafts from ventilation that might affect measurement of SSL products that are sensitive to temperature. Measurements with a goniophotometer are

time-consuming compared to a sphere photometer. Goniophotometers using broadband photopic detectors are susceptible to the spectral mismatch errors noted above. In fact, correction for spectral mismatch can be more difficult if there is significant variation in color with angle.

 

Generally, when integrating sphere system and Goniophotometer test light source, the difference of data is not large. If test luminaries, the test result of Goniophotometer should be as the criterion, of course, it should ensure that the calibration of Goniophotometer accurate. According to formal test requirements, integrating sphere system is to test for light source, Goniophototmeter is to test for luminaires.

With the widespread use of electrical and electronic equipment, the problem of electromagnetic disturbance has also brought electromagnetic pollution.

 

EMC(Electro Magnetic Compatibility) refers to the ability of a device or system to operate within its electromagnetic environment without incurring unacceptable electromagnetic interference to any device in its environment.



EMC testing, one the one hand refers to the electromagnetic interference from the devices during normal operation in its environment cannot exceed a certain limit, on the other hand refers to the appliance has a degree of immunity to electromagnetic interference present in the environment. It divides broadly into emissions testing and susceptibility testing.

 

Electromagnetic Interference (EMI):
  1. RE (Radiated Emission): Test unintentional release of electromagnetic energy from an electronic device or apparatus.

  2. CE( Conducted Emission): Test the electromagnetic energy travelling along the power line, control line or signals lines.

Goniophotometer System Standard Operating Procedures


 

Goniophotometer is mainly used to measure the light performance of luminaries and light source, it mainly could measure the light intensity distribution curve, light intensity data, beam angle, total flux, luminaries efficiency, zonal luminaries flux, luminance distribution, coefficient of utilization, luminance limitation curves, maximum efficiency ratio of distance to height, equal illuminance diagram, effective average illuminance curve, spatial color distribution and average color parameters and so on.

Lisun LSG-1800B is a high performance Goniophotometer. How to do standard operation for Goniophotometer?
  1. Firstly, it is preparation.

  2. Before operation, testers should detect whether the connection between signals lines, control lines and power lines of Goniophotometer different parts are normal.

  3. System rotation cabinet panel key switch, open the total power, and then press ”Motor” button to open the power of mechanical part, press ”Meter” button to open the power of photo tester and angle monitor, and then press LS2010 Digital Power Meter switch to open the power of Digital Power Meter.

  4. Observe whether the testers in the cabinet are normal connected with mechanical parts. Under normal circumstances, except reference signals all display “0” in the testers, the rest can have data immediately; If all show “0”, it indicates that the test equipment and mechanical parts failed to connect, shut down the power of each equipment in the cabinet and open again.

  5. Switch the rocker switch to “CF” on the cabinet panel.

  6. Open the system power of computer, when the computer enters Windows interface, double-click LSG-1800B System software.


 
  1. Install and lit luminaries

  2. Choose the luminaries (or light source) under test. The chosen test luminaries (or light source) should meet the national standards which should be representative and can reflect the type performance of the luminaries (or light source) under test. For new light, it should meet the product requirement of enterprise standard; it requires aging treatment before test.

  3. Install the luminaries (or light source) under test, please wear clean gloves, please wipe the luminaries (or light source) surface stains before test. When check luminaries (or light source) to test system, please note that aim the light emitting surface center (or light source center) at “+” center, and record the value of the dial angle scales in this case.

  4. Clamp the clip to the two ports of the test luminaries (or light source) power supply. Please note that the two pins of the clip should plug in red and blue sockets, the two pins of another clip should plug in yellow and grebe sockets, start zero measurement. After zero measurement, the result will be saved automatically in the system files.

  5. If the power of test luminaries (or light source) is not exceed 1KW, switch the rocker switch on the cabinet panel to “CF” position. Adjust the frequency conversion output power switch, until the voltage data on the digital power meter reaches the rated voltage value of luminaries(or light source), lit the test luminaries (or light source) and wait until the luminaries (or light source) light stably. General thermal radiation source needs 15 minutes, gas discharge light source needs 30 minutes.

  6. If the power of test luminaries (or light source) is exceed 1KW, switch the rocker switch on the cabinet panel to “OUTER” position, power the luminaries (or light source) under test by AC Power Source or DC Power Source directly, lit the test luminaries (or light source) and wait until the luminaries (or light source) light stably. General thermal radiation source needs 15 minutes, gas discharge light source needs 30 minutes.


 
  1. Measurement

  2. Set the angle value of the test system at present(Horizontal angle is the value that the dial scale value of before record minus 180 degree, because this system angular coordinates is -180 degree to +180 degree, vertical angle is 0 degree).

  3. Run LSG-1800B Goniophotometer test software to set a series of parameters of the luminaries under test, measure and process data.

  4. If you want to save, click “Save” button, select the file format.

  5. If you want to read the saved date, click “Read” button, choose the appropriate data file format and click.

  6. If print, click “Print Report” button, choose appropriate print option and print automatically, make sure that the power supply of printer is open.

  7. If you exit the system, click ”Exit” button to exit.

  8. Shut down the power supply of luminaries (or light source) under test; remove the luminaries (or light source) under test.

  9. Shut down all power supplies of the equipment in the cabinet, shut down the power supply of mechanical part and shut down the total power supply at last.

Light environment is one of the indispensable and important physical environmental factors for plant growth and development. LED plant lighting lamp is a kind of artificial light source to meet plant photosynthesis light conditions. In the absence of sunlight, lamp can act as daylight.



Plant growth lights play the function of environmental protection and energy conservation. LED plant lights provide photosynthesis light conditions, promote plant growth, short the time of plant bloom and bear fruit, improve production. It is an indispensable product for crops during modernization construction.

 

The wavelength types of LED plant lamps are rich, which is coincided with the spectral range of plant photosynthesis and photomorphogenesis. It can concentrate the light of a specific wavelength to irradiate the crop evenly. Not only it can regulate crop flowering and fruiting, but also it can control plant height and plant nutrients. System has less heat and less space, which can be used for multi-layer cultivation composite system to meet low heat load and production space miniaturized.

 

Light spectrum direct impact on plant photosynthesis is mainly red and blue. Red light is concentrated in the 630nm~660nm, its role is to help plant bloom and bear fruit; blue light is concentrated in the 450nm~470nm, its role is to help plant grow stems and leaves.

Lisun LSG-2000 Moving Mirror Goniophotometer System adapts the solution of rotating mirror in the center, it is widely applied in road lamp, room lamp, spot lights, stage lights, Mining lamp, Automobile lamp, traffic signal lamp and LED lamp etc. all kinds of luminaries for light distribution performance(light distribution curve) measurement, it can also test total flux, luminaries efficiency for all types of lighting sources. It can realize CIEA-α,CIEB-β,CIEC-γ measurement solution with different software. The test result can be directly used as the input data of the international lighting design software, and comply with the requirements of CIE, IESNA and other international and domestic standards.

 

Lisun LSG-2000 Moving Mirror Goniophotometer System can test spatial luminous intensity distribution, luminance intensity data, zonal luminance flux, luminance efficiency, coefficient of Utilization, luminance limitation curves glare, maximum ratio of distance to height, efficient luminescence angle, upper luminous flux, lower luminous flux, available average illuminance curve, Isocandela diagrams etc. photometry parameters, and voltage, current, power, power factor etc. electrical parameters.

This system has 3 rotating axis. Main axis drives the reflective mirror rotate around the center point, reflect the light of the lamp to the detector. At the same time, auxiliary axis reverse rotates synchronously, always keeps the lamp bracket in the vertical position, to ensure the test lamp in normal ignite position in the measurement process, and achieve the lamp in the main axis direction measurement.

 

Lisun LSG-2000 Moving Mirror Goniophotometer System can work with a CCD spectroradiometer with USB interface to test spatial CCT distribution and other spectral color parameters. Purpose of the test: to assess the ability of the material to prevent solids and liquids from entering the external shell

Detection range: electrical and electronic equipment, automotive aircraft and other parts

 

IP level (waterproof and dustproof) definition

IP waterproof and dustproof, refers to the protection level of electrical equipment, in accordance with its ability of preventing external objects intrusion, waterproof, moisture-proof and dustproof characteristics to be graded. The external objects include tools, human fingers, etc. which are not accessible to the live parts of the lamp to avoid electric shock. IP protection level is composed of two figures, the first number represents the level of dustproof ability for lamps, and the ability of preventing foreign objects intrusion; the second number represents the level of anti moisture and water for lamps. The larger the number is, the higher the degree of protection is. For example, IPXX.

 

The IP rating system provides a method for classifying products by the levels of waterproof, dustproof and anti-collision for electrical equipment and packaging. This system is approved by most European countries and was announced in IED529 (BS EN 60529: 1992) External Packing Protection level (IP code).

 

The degree of protection is mostly followed IP by two numbers, and the numbers are used to clarify the level of protection. The first figure indicates the extent of the equipment against the dust, or the extent to which people are protected from harm in a sealed environment. The second figure indicates the waterproof level of the device.

 

0 No protection

1 Can withstand solid material with length is more than 50mm. For example, hands accidentally touch; can withstand the vertical drop of water.

2 Can withstand solid material with diameter is more than 12mm, and length is no longer than 80mm. For example, fingers; can withstand a direct injection of water at a vertical angle of 15 °.

3 Can withstand solid material with diameter is more than 2.5mm. For example, tools or wires; can withstand direct jetting of water at a vertical angle of 60 °.

4 Can withstand solid material with a diameter is more than 1.0mm. For example, small wires; can withstand water spray from any direction- allowing limited access.

5 Dustproof, limited access (no harmful deposits). Can withstand low pressure water jet from any direction - allowing limited access.

6 Dust is difficult to enter, completely dustproof. Can withstand strong water column jet from any direction - allowing limited access.

7 Allowing for putting into 0.15m-1m depth water for a short time which can be up to 30 minutes.

8 Can withstand long-term soaking under pressure.

High and low temperature test


In natural environment, temperature and humidity are two indivisible natural factors. Due to different geographical locations in different regions, the temperature and humidity effects generated are also different. This test is used to confirm the products’ adaptability during storage, transportation and usage in the climate of some certain temperature and humidity. Severe levels depend on the high / low temperature, humidity and the time of exposure.


High temperature test is introduced in detail: this test is used to determine the adaptability of the products to store, transport and use under the conditions of high temperature and climate. The severity of the test depends on the temperature of the high temperature and the duration of the exposure. Reference test standards: GB/T 2423.2, IEC 60068-2-2, IEIA 364, MIL-STD-810F and so on.

Low Temperature Test: This test is used to confirm the products’ adaptability of storage, transportation and usage in the climate of the low temperature and humidity. Severe levels depend on the low temperature, humidity and the time of exposure.

Reference standards: GB/T 2423.1, IEC60068-2-1, EIA 364, MIL-STD-810F, etc..

Temperature shock test: This test is used to confirm the products’ adaptability during storage, transportation and usage in the climate of abrupt temperature change. Severe levels depend on the high/low temperature, dwell time and cycle number. Reference standard: IEC60068-2-14, GB2423.22, GJB150.5, etc..

High and low temperature test chamber is mainly aimed at the electrical, electronic products, components, and other materials’ adaptability during storage, transportation and usage in the high/low temperature.

The test equipment is mainly used for the products in accordance with national standards or user requirements, in low temperature, high temperature, conditions, the physical and other related characteristics of the environment simulation testing, testing, to determine the performance of the product, whether it is still able to meet the predetermined requirements, so as to provide product design, improvement, identification and factory inspection.

High and low temperature test box to prohibit the test items: 1) Explosive; 2) Combustible; 3)Tinder.

Lisun Electronics Engineers went to Hungary to install Goniophotometer for our Hungary customer. Zengővári Lighting Ltd has been manufacturing lighting products for 20 years in Hungary. In October 2012, Zengővári Lighting Ltd purchased Lisun Rotation Luminaire Goniophotometer(LSG-1800) for lamp testing. Our Engineers spent three days in providing installation and training service to customers. The first day, Zengővári engineers carefully reviewed the drawing provided by Lisun Enigneers, then they installed the test system, and calibrated and debugged the instruments in accordance with CIE standards. The next day, Zengővári staff from technical department together with Lisun Engineers used the calibrated system to test some lamp samples, and they found the test result was very close to the rated specifications. IP Waterproof and Dustproof Rating Test


Purpose of the test: to assess the ability of the material to prevent solids and liquids from entering the external shell
Detection range: electrical and electronic equipment, automotive aircraft and other parts

IP level (waterproof and dustproof) definition
IP waterproof and dustproof, refers to the protection level of electrical equipment, in accordance with its ability of preventing external objects intrusion, waterproof, moisture-proof and dustproof characteristics to be graded. The external objects include tools, human fingers, etc. which are not accessible to the live parts of the lamp to avoid electric shock. IP protection level is composed of two figures, the first number represents the level of dustproof ability for lamps, and the ability of preventing foreign objects intrusion; the second number represents the level of anti moisture and water for lamps. The larger the number is, the higher the degree of protection is. For example, IPXX.

The IP rating system provides a method for classifying products by the levels of waterproof, dustproof and anti-collision for electrical equipment and packaging. This system is approved by most European countries and was announced in IED529 (BS EN 60529: 1992) External Packing Protection level (IP code).

The degree of protection is mostly followed IP by two numbers, and the numbers are used to clarify the level of protection. The first figure indicates the extent of the equipment against the dust, or the extent to which people are protected from harm in a sealed environment. The second figure indicates the waterproof level of the device.

0 No protection
1 Can withstand solid material with length is more than 50mm. For example, hands accidentally touch; can withstand the vertical drop of water.
2 Can withstand solid material with diameter is more than 12mm, and length is no longer than 80mm. For example, fingers; can withstand a direct injection of water at a vertical angle of 15 °.
3 Can withstand solid material with diameter is more than 2.5mm. For example, tools or wires; can withstand direct jetting of water at a vertical angle of 60 °.
4 Can withstand solid material with a diameter is more than 1.0mm. For example, small wires; can withstand water spray from any direction- allowing limited access.
5 Dustproof, limited access (no harmful deposits). Can withstand low pressure water jet from any direction - allowing limited access.
6 Dust is difficult to enter, completely dustproof. Can withstand strong water column jet from any direction - allowing limited access.
7 Allowing for putting into 0.15m-1m depth water for a short time which can be up to 30 minutes.
8 Can withstand long-term soaking under pressure.

At the beginning of September 2017, LISUN engineer fly to Brazil immediately after the installation and training in the United States. LISUN Engineer stayed in Brazil for nearly half a month this time to do installation and training and meet several customers who are interested in LISUN products at the same time.

 

This article is for one of our customers in Brazil, the customer is a famous local lighting manufacturer, they build a new laboratory recently, and purchase some LED test equipments from LISUN. Such as LSG-1800BCCD High Precision Rotation Luminaire Goniospectroradiometer

, LPCE-3 Integrating Sphere & Spectroradiometer Compact LED Testing System, JL3456 Waterproof Test system and IK07-10 IK Level Tester.

 

LISUN engineer have designed the darkroom of the LSG-1800BCCD and operating room of JL-3456 waterproof test system for our customer. LISUN engineer spent 4 days here, the installation & training work smoothly, and LISUN service won the recognition of our customer

Integrating Sphere Work Principle


If the total flux of light enter integrating sphere is Φ, irradiate on the inner wall area S3 of the integrating sphere. The light diffuse on the surface of the inner wall several times. Examine the illumination of the inner wall at any point M. Since the light entering the integrating sphere directly illuminates at S3, one part of the light diffused by each point on the S3 will irradiate on the observation M point directly, the illuminance of all these light illuminated to point M is called the direct illumination, which is denoted by E0. In addition, there are some light diffused from S3 to each point on the inner wall of the integrating sphere by multiple diffuse reflections and then reach to point M, the sum illuminance of this part light is called multiple diffuse reflection illuminance, which is denoted by E∑. Thus, the illuminance E of the observation point M is the sum of the two parts of the illuminance: E=E0+E∑         (1-1)

In the S3 range, take a small element dSA at any point A, the total luminous flux on this surface is dΦ, then the illuminance EA of the position A: EA=dΦ/dSA, the inner wall of integrating sphere can be seen as ideal Reflector, so the brightness LA at A: LA=EAρ/π(where ρ is the diffuse reflection coefficient). If take a small element dSM at observation position A , the luminous flux from the element dSA  with brightness LA to the element dSM: dΦA=LAdSAcosi1dSMcosi1’/rA2.

The physical quantities in the formulas are shown in the figure. The figure also can show: i1=i1’, rA=2Rcosi1(R is the radius of the inner wall of the integrating sphere). The illuminance of the light emitted from element dSA at the observation position M: dE0=dΦA/dSM=LAdSAcosi1cosi1’/rA2=LAdSA/4R2.

 

The physical quantities in the formulas are given and sorted and the direct illuminance of the entire S3 diffuse light at M is obtained as follows: E0=ρ∫S3dΦ/4πR2=ρΦ/4πR2                    (1-2)

Φ in the formula is the total luminous flux into the integrating sphere.

Multiple diffuse reflections illuminance E∑

Firstly analyze the light that the direct light from S3 at any position N on the inner wall and then diffuse again and directly reaches the observation position M. This part is called an additional illumination E1.

Since N also gets the direct illumination E0, the luminance L0 is L0=ρE0/π. Take surface element dSN at point N, An additional illuminance dE1 formed at position M from dSN: dE1=dΦ1/dSN=L0dSNcosi2dSMcosi2’/ 4R2cosi2cosi2’ dSM =L0dSN/4R2

Diffused by the entire interior of the integrating sphere, the total primary illuminance E1 formed at position M: E1=ρE0∫SdSN/4πR2=ρE0S/4πR2=ρE0(1-f)S1/4πR

S1 is the area of the inner wall of the whole sphere; f is the opening ratio (f=S2/S1, S2 is the spherical area at the opening)

Substitute S1=4πR2into the above equation:E1=ρ(1-f)E0                     (1-3)

Follow the same method, we could derive the second illuminance E2, the third illuminance E3 and so on formed at the position M from the first illumiance inside the inner wall:

In this way, multiple diffuse reflections total illuminance is: E∑=E1+E2+E3+……=E0ρ(1-f)/[1-ρ(1-f)]                    (1-4)

Thus, the total illuminance E at the position M is: E=E0+E∑=E0/[1-ρ(1-f)]                        (1-5)

Feed the formula (1-2) above, then we can obtain:

E=ρΦ/4πR2[1-ρ(1-f)]                   (1-6)

We can see from the above formula, the illuminance at any position on the inner wall is proportional to the total luminous flux entering the integrating sphere. This is the basic formula for applying the luminous flux integrating sphere.

LISUN engineer visit the first stop: Russia to do installation and training in the early August 2017

In early August 2017, LISUN engineer Fred go abroad again to installation and training, the first stop is Russia.


This customer purchased one LSG-1800X Rotation Luminaire Goniophotometer and a set of LPCE-2 High Precision Spectroradiometer & Integrating Sphere Compact Test System from LISUN this time.


 

Customer’s engineer is also very young and he can speak English fluently, the communication is very smooth. The installation & training lasted 3 days here.

LISUN engineer visit Spain to do installation & training


 

LISUN engineer visited customer in Spain in July 2017, and completed the installation and training tasks. This customer is a big lighting factory, they purchased a set of LMS-1900B Near Field Moving Detector Goniophotometer & IS-3.0 Integrating Sphere Test System from LISUN.

 

Usually, there are 2 hemispheres, customers should install them to one sphere. But this installation task is more complex. The volume of the ball is relatively large, and there is not simply two hemispheres here. They use two days to install the Integrating Sphere. The third day began the product training and operational exercises.
