Russia- Installation and training for Integrating Sphere Test System

Recently, there is a Russian customer who purchased the LPCE-2 (LMS-9000A) High Precision Spectroradiometer Integrating Sphere System from LISUN. This customer is a relatively large local luminaries manufacturer, just built a new laboratory and was perfecting the test equipment.

Waterproof Test Equipment Analysis in China Market


Waterproof grade reflects the ability of moisture-proof of products. Especially for outdoor activities, it is unavoidable to be in the harsh environment of high humidity. The sealing and water-proof ability of the instrument is very important to ensure the safe of operation and life of the instrument.

At present, there are many manufacturers producing waterproofing equipment on the market. What are the advantages of LISUN waterproof equipment compared with other manufacturers? There are some advantages for LISUN waterproof in below:

1. On the side of excellent cost performance, In test equipment market, the quality of LISUN waterproof equipment is good than the waterproof equipment of most of suppliers. Please kindly see Figure 1 and Figure 2. Besides, the price of LISUN waterproof test equipment is very competitive in market. Right price with good quality is cost-effective products for our customer to make a good choice for test equipment. Compare to Figure 2, visibly, the surface of material of LISUN waterproof equipment in Figure 1 (LISUN Model:JL-34) has high gloss. And the surface of material in Figure 2 (Other supplier’s Model) have poor gloss. Good material with high gloss makes the equipment more beautiful visually. Regarding to choosing material, LISUN use SUS304 stainless steel as raw material. One more, the regulator in Figure 1 (LISUN Model JL-34) is much better than the regulator in Figure 2.

2. Speaking of structure of IPX3-IPX4, please kindly see Figure 3 and Figure 4 in below. The waterproof test equipment in Figure 3 (Other supplier’s Model) is Wall-Hanging Split Type, but the waterproof test equipment in Figure 4 (LISUN Mode: JL-34) is Two Cabinets Type. Compare to Wall-Hanging Split Type, two cabinets type is easy to carry. Besides, the cabinets of LISUN model JL-34 can be mounted wheels at the bottom, which is more easier for operator to carry and adjust placement.

3. With the view of production details for waterproof test equipment, we can see many welded junctions in Figure 5 and Figure 6(Other supplier’s Model), which not only affects appearance, but also makes it easier for water to erode equipment. please kindly see Figure 5 & Figure 6 & Figure 7 in below. In Figure 7(LISUN Model: JL-34), we can see that the surface of the equipment is clean and glossy, and there is no welded junction.

4. Speaking of turntable, we can easily judge the good or bad quality of turntable by through below Figure 8 and Figure 9. After waterproof test equipment is used for a long time, in below Figure 8 (Other supplier’s Model), we can find many rust spots on the machine. In below Figure 9(LISUN Model:JL-34), there is no rust spot on that machine. Thus it can be seen good material can make machine have good corrosion resistance and durability. The turntable of LISUN model JL-34 also mounted wheels at the bottom. This is also more convenient for the operator to move the turntable.

5. For swing pipe and spray nozzle for IPX3 and IPX4, compare to Figure 10, the quality of swing pipe and spray nozzle in Figure 11 is better and more elaborate .which also make operator control water flow accurately, and Good parts can make the equipment be used for long term.

6. Regarding to wire of waterproof, please kindly see Figure 12 and Figure 13 in below. Wire is exposing outside of equipment in Figure 12 (Other supplier’s Model). If operator use the machine for a long time in damp environment, that will be easy to make safety issue. So such design for waterproof equipment is not safe for operator. In Figure 13 (LISUN Model: JL-34), Wires are wrapped in plastic pipes, in that way, it can protect operator when operator use equipment. From a safety point of view, LISUN Model is also much better.

 Photoelectric color performance detection of LED lights


The main parameters of the photoelectric color performance of LED lamps include: lamp power, power factor, luminous flux, output luminous efficiency, luminous flux maintenance rate, correlated color temperature, color rendering index, chromaticity tolerance, color coordinates, and beam of reflective cup MR16 or PAR lamp. Angle, light intensity and light intensity maintenance rate.

(1) The integrating sphere system with auxiliary lamps can quickly measure all of these photoelectric color performance parameters of the LED lamp. First place the LED light in the center of the integrating sphere, and test it with the illuminated auxiliary light when the LED is not lit. The auxiliary lamp is turned off and the LED lamp under test is turned on. After the test is stabilized, the color characteristic parameter of the lamp to be tested is obtained, and the luminous flux of the LED lamp under test is automatically calculated by software. If the auxiliary ball is not equipped with an auxiliary lamp, the LED lamp body itself will absorb part of the reflected light, and there will be some error in the luminous flux value. At the same time, the inner wall of the integrating sphere should also have a high reflectivity: 90%~98%. At present, most of the detection mechanism of the integrating sphere system has no auxiliary lamps, and the reflectivity of the inner wall of the integrating sphere is less than 90%. These integrating sphere systems cannot accurately measure the luminous flux of the LED lamps.

(2) The luminous flux of the LED lamp can also be measured by a distributed photometer. When testing, the γ angle range should be 180°, and the center of the lamp coincides with the center of the mechanical axis. The downside is that the test time is too long.

(3) The beam angle and light intensity of the reflector type MR16 or PAR lamp can be measured by a small bedroom distribution photometer. When testing, the mechanical and optical axes must be the same. The disadvantage is that the test posture is abnormal, and the test results need to be corrected.

This trip to India is different from the past, and this time we are going to do installation training for a first-class university in India. The University was founded in 1955. As a foremost Indian University with a vast repertoire of courses offered, an enviable list of faculty members and has come to be known for its commitment towards advanced study and research. In recent years, the CE marks are more and more widely used in the market of European economic area (Member states of the European Union and the European Free Trade association, except Switzerland). More customs of different countries set out the requirements of CE certification for imported products. Exporter will be in trouble as well as unnecessary loss if their shipping goods don't have CE certified label. So, what is the importance of CE certification? What are the forms of CE certification so far? And what are the risks of products that has not been certified by CE?

1. The importance of CE certification
The CE mark on the packaging indicates that it meets the requirements of a series of European directives such as safety, sanitation, environmental protection and consumer protection. In the past, EC(European
Community)countries require differently for import and sale of products. The goods which are produced according to national standards may not be on the market. As part of the efforts to eliminate trade barriers, CE came into being at that time. Therefore, CE can be understood as CONFORMITY WITH EUROPEAN (DEMAND) (in Europe).

The meaning of the CE mark is as the following: Using CE acronym as symbol shows products which affix the CE mark meet the main requirements of relevant provisions of the European Directive (Essential Requirements),and it's also used to verify that the products have passed the conformity assessment procedure or the manufacturer's declaration of conformity. 2. Advantages of CE certification

The import of CE certified electronic instruments and equipment has the following advantages:

3. Current forms of CE certification in China mainland
At present, there are three kinds of domestic CE certification as following:

A:Only certified certificate, no test report:
This type of certificate is almost invalid and cannot be queried on the appropriate website. Products with this certification mark can't be recognized as ticket to the European market. Products with this kind of certificate is equivalent to the product without CE mark, and they should be detained or even returned.
B: Certificate of compliance / Certificate of compliance, with test report:
This type of certificate is issued as a statement of conformity by the third party Agency (agency or test certification body). The test reports and other technical documents TCF should be enclosed by this kind of certificate. At the same time, enterprises also have to sign the<declaration of conformity>. This type of certification report is only recognized in mainland China. Although there are the test report and related certificates according to the requirement, the relevant information can only be checked on the detection of the company's own website. But many such testing company themself do not comply with EU certification requirements. The certificate is only applicable to the manufacturer for product quality self inspection, there is also a greater risk of being detained by the customs ana cause fines and delivery delays. This type of certificate is issued by the EU notified body (Notified Body known as NB). According to EU regulations, only the NB are eligible to issue EC Type CE Declaration.
This type of certificate and test report are issued by testing organization certified by EU. The products finish the complete testing during the certification process and has a complete test report. In optical testing, the measurement of luminous flux and color temperature are essential. There are two test equipment for the measurement: Integrating Sphere Testing System and Goniophotometer. Here we give you a brief introduction to the difference of these two test system:

1. Integrating Sphere & Spectroradiometer Test System

The Integrating Sphere Test System make measurement using integral method. Firstly, calibrated the system with a standard lighting source and then measure the sample lamp. The test result of luminous flux or color temperature is the relative value of the data of the standard lighting source. The measurement is made through the diffuse reflection spread the light into the optical fiber, and then measure it, the test time is very short, only need several seconds.

In the process of diffuse emission, the light will be affected by the self-absorption performance of the lamp housing, so there may be a certain error in the test results. In addition, if the illumination angle of the lamp is too small, there will be light loss in the integrating sphere due to diffuse reflection, which will result in the light finally transmitted to the spectrometer will be a little different from the original light source, so the test result may would have a certain error. Ans these errors can be reduced in the following ways:

For the error caused by the casing, we can use the auxiliary lamp to correct the test result. The method is as follows: (1) Put the standard lighting source into the integrating sphere and not light it, put the auxiliary lamp into the ball and light it, then test (2) Take out the standard lighting source, put the sample light into the integrating sphere and do not light up, also light up the auxiliary and then test it. (3) By comparing the difference in luminous flux measured in the above two states, the software will form a correction factor (the self-absorption coefficient of the casing). This factor can be used to calculate the test results when testing the sample lamps of the same type of casing.

The error caused by the illuminating angle can be reduced through 2π test method. If the illumination angle is small, the 4π test method will result in uneven illumination in the ball, which will lead to the test error, and the 2π test method can reduce the unevenness of the light source inside the ball. Thereby reducing the test error of the luminous flux.

2. Goniophotometer test system

The goniophotoometer make measurement using photometric method. During the test, During the test, the sample lamp or probe under test can be automatically rotated under the control of software to obtain the parameter values at different angles. The test result is a spatial luminous intensity table and a spatial color table, showing the values of in different directions, not just the average value. And the distributed photometer test is basically not affected by the casing of the lamp, the angle of lamps. And of course, the average value of the luminous flux and color temperature can also be displayed in the test report.

In general, if test the parameters related to space, angle, and distance (such as luminous intensity distribution, UGR, etc.), it needs to be tested with goniophotometer. According to the formal requirements, the integrating sphere system is used to test the lighting source, and the goniophotometer is used to test the luminaires. In addition, you can also confirm the requirements by referring to the following methods:

1. For general quality inspection, use the integrating sphere test system; when it is required to have a higher laboratory, it is recommended to use goniophotometer.
2. Test duration: The integration sphere test system can make the measurement in just a few seconds after the calibration, and the goniophotometer needs at least 15 minutes to make the measurement.

As the most important part of the lighting test, the main function of the goniophotometer is to measure the absolute luminous intensity. At the same time, it can measure other parameters such as lumen and illuminance. Because of the different testing principle, compared with the integrating sphere spectroradiometer system, the device is more suitable for the measurement of the overall luminaire.

Carrying the measurement with goniophotometer, the standard darkroom is needed. If the darkroom does not meet the requirements, it is likely to affect the final test results, which will lead to the deformation of distribution curve and the inaccurate results of lumen. And the final IES file will not meet the requirements, that will affect the final test results.

According to the requirements of the test environment in LM-79 and CIE-70, this paper makes a brief introduction to the selection of darkroom:

Temperature requirements:

According to the requirements of CIE-70 and LM-79, when carrying the measurement with goniophotometer, the ambient temperature should be around 25°. For the light source with obvious influence on the temperature, the temperature tolerance should be ±1°and the other light sources are ±3°. If the test is carried out at different ambient temperatures, the temperature should be stated.

In order to meet the requirements of test environment, it is usually required to install air-conditioner in the darkroom to control the temperature. At the same time, a thermometer with a precision of 0.01°is needed to use to calibrate the
temperature.

Stray light requirements:

Stray light has a bad effect on the test results, so it is recommended that the diaphragm should be used between the light source and the photometric probe to prevent stray light, but the diaphragm mustn't block the direct light between the probe and the light source.

It is possible to determine the ratio of stray light by placing a minimum possible size screen in the middle of the light source and the photometric probe. The screen blocks the direct light from the light source to the photometric probe.

The test of light intensity distribution should be repeated when the screen is in the corresponding position. The measurement signal at this time is the signal of direct stray light, which should be subtracted from the test result without this screen.

In general, the biggest influence on the test results is the stray light, which will directly lead to the test result of the light intensity distribution curve is not accurate, then the IES or LDT file will not be used naturally. According to the requirements of the standard, the installation principle of the diaphragm is as follows:



According to different models of goniophotometer and different size of customers’ darkroom, Lisun engineers will design the different size diaphragm for customers.

Requirements for darkroom wall painting:

According to the standard, in the actual test, there is only one light source to be measured in the darkroom. In this case, if the room wall is bright color, or white,or the use of reflective coatings, it will cause stray light to affect the test results. When sending drawings to customers, Lisun usually asks customers to use the matt black coating to paint all the walls. It's important to note that the most important wall in the darkroom is the wall facing the photometric probe, which
is usually the wall behind the goniophotometer host. Stray light will be directly detected in the probe if there is stray light.

Darkroom size requirements:

According to LM-79 and CIE-70 requirements, the length of test optical path should be at least for more than 5 times of the diameter of the longest dimension of the test lamp. It means that if the maximum size of the measured light is 1.2 meters, the length of the optical path should be at least 6 meters and plus the position of host and probe, the whole darkroom length should be at least 8 meters. A standard darkroom can guarantee the test accuracy.

The above four requirements are the basic points that the user must pay attention in the preparation of the darkroom. LISUN will also design the darkroom for all customers, and help customers rectify the darkroom to ensure a standard test environment. At the same time, all of LISUN’s LSG-1700B/1800B/2000/3000/5000 goniophotometer are equipped with a constant temperature probe with high precision. Under this premise, when customers prepare temperature control system for darkroom, they can only consider the temperature control system of lamp position, which can greatly save the cost.
